From its valley with Mediterranean climate to its snow covered
glaciers, the center of Valais welcomes you, in summer as well as
in Winter, with its most beautiful surroundings.

In Winter, our valley gives you easy access to the many
surrounding ski resorts.

Biking,
horseriding, walking trough vignards and hiking are only
some of the many activities that our region offers you
during Summertime.
The valley known as « The Lizern » presents you with a
spectacular view from the top of its hills. A wild and
picturesque path will lead you to one of the most
beautiful regions to be discovered: Derborence. |

|
|
This region
has kept all its precious assets, surviving the terrible
mudslide of 1749. The lake of Derborence owes its
existence to this natural catastrophe. Omnipresent
vegetation, virgin forests and animal wildlife are only
a few examples of what can be found in this protected
area, where human hands almost never interfear. |

Walking and
hiking are the main activities of this region, where
mountain cabins and hostels will welcome you with cosy
rooms and good food. One of the most renowned mountain
cabins of this region is the « Rambert cabin », from where
you can access the beautiful mounts of the « Diablerets »,
the « Transfleuron » glacier, the « Pillon » pass, the « Sanetsch »
pass and the lovely village of Gsteig. Another cabin on
the way is the « Audannes » cabin situated at the bottom
of the Wildhorn, from where you can access the
« Mont-Gond », the Tsandra riverstream and the old village
of Ardon at the bottom of the Lizern valley.
Thermal baths, museums, expositions, historical sites,
swimming pools, tennis courts, shopping areas, fine foods
and wine tasting facile are but a mere glance at what can
be done here |
